service standards:  our firm has established the service standard (where time is of the essence) of up to 7 business days to complete the assigned work on file; (please note that some offices in Department of Citizenship and Immigration take 12 to 24 months service standard to complete processing of the file. By assuring high quality standards and relying on our expert knowledge of their processing system-  we can reduce this for many files by 30-50% )

- starting the count for 7 days: if client gives us main documents and info for his file- it should be done/complete within 7 days, if some additional info/documents are missing- it's up to the client to provide it, but we must make sure that client knows that we are waiting for him not the opposite; the key starting point is receiving main documents and info- which is approximately- more then 50% of what we need to prepare the file; -it is important for the sake of efficiency, when starting main work on file to seek as much info/documents as possible, so the file will be close to completion, only a few elements missing, not vice versa)

quality of service: guarantee of high quality of service from errors and omissions is provided, so that any minor mistakes that occur are fixable and will not lead to refusal of the application.

guarantees of result - our position: Status Policy Ltd. provides services in areas where expert knowledge and practical processing experience has been obtained, so that reasonable expectations and guarantees can be provided to client about expected outcome.  It is important to note that certain professionals/lawyers take position that since for example the decision about issuance of the visa is made by an officer at department of Citizenship and Immigration, it is not possible to guarantee the outcome.  We take different position on this topic.  If we the applicant has all necessary qualifications, according to requirements of the law (Immigration Act and Regulations), then any officer must make decision in strict accordance with the law. That means in this case - approve the application, if not: specific grounds have to be provided with reference to legal authority to make such decision. 

discretion - where discretion can be routinely exercised by an officer (example: Humanitarian and Compassionate cases) - it should be done in a manner that follows the legal requirements and is consistent with other decisions made.  It is our job as legal representatives to assure that such requirements are followed.  Since requirements for decisions in different cases are not the same, we established different "degrees" of assurance or guarantee.  For example - the guarantees on outcome of independent immigrant application are straight legal guarantees, because the requirements are strict and clear.  Another example - it is much more difficult to guarantee the outcome of visitor's visa application (tourist, student), since the practical discretion of the officer in those cases is used much more often, so we do not routinely provide guarantees for those cases.

if negative decision - sometimes decisions (negative) are made, which do not comply with legal requirements, we make submissions to the officer or supervisor/manager (depending on the nature of omission).  If case is not resolved properly, we can also make an appeal (on any decision) to the Federal Court of Canada, which has among their responsibilities - review of inappropriate decisions made under the Immigration Act.   

proper warning and guidance - most importantly- with wide variety of cases and situations - we explain to each individual client what are reasonable expectations on chances of success of particular case.  Having thousands of cases in our portfolio we are much better positioned to make expert projections and recommendations.  We always do our best effort to make very clear to applicant what difficulties and risks exist in his case.
